Designing Patterns of Intersectional Identity

I spent the 2022-2023 year as a Fulbright scholar in Istanbul, Turkey, conducting research into the development of pattern design traditions as a language of culture. This research expanded my understanding of the intimate relationship between art and collective, as well as individual, conceptions of self and now informs my painting practice exploring the complexity of contemporary identities.
